UNUSUAL DISTINGUISH FLYING CROSS GROUP

I have always liked unusual collectible items and this falls right into that category. This DFC was awarded in September 18-19 1945 for an action that took place after the war. Sergeant Frank Klas, Jr. ASN 31313020 the radio operator was awarded the DFC for being a member of a B29 that flew non stop from Hokkaido, Japan to the United States. All crew member received the DFC for their part in the flight. Included in the group is the DFC with case a AM with case two home town newspaper articles about him, along with a small photo of Klas. The Air Medal is a full wrapped Broach the DFC is a slot broach. Condition very good
