FRENCH 37mm MEUSE ENGRAVED SHELL

This French 37mm Shell Case with the Dewat Shell. The base of the shell case is stamped with following 37-85 refers to the cal. 37mm the 85 is the cannon model. The shell casing was made in Jan, 1917 by Parc d Artillerie de Paris. The flaming bomb acceptance stamp is present. The Shell and the arming head are both stamped 2226. There are some additional markings on the shell that I can not make out. The brass rotating bands are as new showing that the round was not fired. The shell casing has MEUSE engraved or hand stamped in large letters. This makes a niece display something that you can put on your desk or with some medals displayed. Condition Good ++++
