M30 GAS MASK AND CONTAINER

This M30 Gas Mask & Container has seen plenty of service. The canister has a good size dent along the bottom reinforced edge. The canister itself has been painted several times. The upper body has 234 painted on the exterior, the Lid pull catch is complete including the cloth pull tab portion. All the correct straps are present except the short bottom strap. The top cover inside compartment that stores replacement lenses is painted with the name Zottmann. Never heard that name before, how many could have there been? The mask is complete and numbered 209 where the canister screws on. Just noticed it has raised letters bmw didn’t know that they made gas masks? The mask itself is a size 2 with all the straps and is a little stiff but movable the canister is impressed with large FE 41. There is little left of the ink stamp. Condition just good
