KOREAN WAR KIA LT. COOGAN B.S. & P.H.
1st.Lt. John R. Coogan U.S. Army was was a member of the 1st Cavalry Division, 16th Reconnaissance Squadron. He was mortally wounded on October 3rd, and died from his wounds on October 6th 1951. The location of the wounding was at Huksok-Tong North Korea.
Lt. Coogan served in WW2 as a staff Sgt with the USAAF stationed in India. He flew on B29 Bombers. He was called back into service as a retread and promoted to 2nd Lt. On June 1950 he was promoted to 1st Lt. his home town was Queens, N.Y.
