1870 IRON CROSS FIRST CLASS

This 1870 EK First Class Medal was made by Steinhauer & Luck Ludenscheld during the third Reich period. The cross itself is typical WW2 construction standard three pieces, same hinge and catch, same coke bottle pin. the only difference is the WW1 insert that is non metallic. The pin is stamped in a box with the number four. There is still some of the original silver frosting on the obverse. I guess that there could have been some old timers left or possibly for display?
