FIRE POLICE HELMET

This is a very nice DD Fire Police Helmet and according to my tag purchased in1981. The exterior shell has a smooth black semi glossy finish, the Bordered Police Eagle Decal looks like it was in a hot attic as the decal has the appearance of being near heat as the decal is broken up into pieces.This effect is from age and heat not a old deal being applied. The decal would rate 90%. The Swaz decal would rate in the high 90’s%. The helmet was punched with three holes so the Aluminum Comb could be added it does not appear that one ever was added. Of the three holes only one has the steel plug in it. The chin strap seems to be an officers strap as it has a snap fastener not the typical holed strap. The four rivets are the early style being with a flat head. The four rivet are fastened into the cork pads on the leather liner. The leather liner and tongs are still in great condition. The tie string is missing And the helmet has the early gray leather pad with leather sides in place of the later man made strips holding the pad in place. The rear inside skirt has the letters DRP and under that HALE. Above the letters there appears to be a stylized sitting lion, at least that’s what it looks like to me. The leather liner mounting strap also has the the five leather arrow shaped leather to mount the leather neck shield to. Condition very good +++
