MERCHANT MARINE MARINER’S MEDAL CASED

This Merchant Marine Mariner’s Medal is with its distinctive display case and full wrap broach. The reverse of the medal has the initials on both sides of the lower portion of the torch and has the triangle not a dot separating the words Merchant Marines. The Mariners Medal takes the place of a Purple Heart that can not be awarded to the MM as it is not considered a branch of the US. Armed Forces. It is awarded under the same criteria as the PH.
