USS HARDHEAD SUBMARINE COMBAT PATROL BADGE

This Combat Patrol Badge Group took a long or me to inure out what sub Deuerling (808 74 85) was on. The photo of the subs cunning tower shows a kicking mule an I knew I would find what sub he was on. The problem is that the patch that they wore is quite different from the drawing on the cunning tower. Anyways thru a lot of time I determined that he served on USS HARDHEAD SS365, as verified by the enclosed muster roll of the crew on April 18,1944. The group consist of the following A- Combat Patrol Badge with one bronze star made by the American Medal Insignia Company of NY City’ to me it appears that a second star was applied on the left of the center star. B- The Submarine Combat Insignia award card listing 1 gold star and signed by the subs captain. C- Photo of the HARDHEAD cunning tower. D- a nice embroidery Sub service patch for the enlisted for the white tunic E- A Ruptured Duck de mobilization Patch for his dress blues. Condition very good +++
