CROATIA ORDER OF THE IRON TREFOIL 4TH CLASS

I have had this medal for over 30 years I just liked the looks of it and really never bothered to find out exactly what it was for and who awarded it. After a little research I found that this medal is called the Military Order of the Iron Trefoil and also known as the Croatia Cross. This medal was the highest military decoration of the Independent State of Croatia military for bravery in action. The award itself was a seldom awarded medal but it was awarded to German Officers and Men who had remarkable success against the enemy. I had purchased this medal with a large veteran lot of German medals according to my notes. This 4th class award has a blackened background finish, the obverse has about 98% of the finish and the reverse has about 20% showing that it must have been worn a lot. The medal itself is made of non magnetic material with a neat looking attachment to the triangular ribbon ring. not much more today about it. Condition good +
