WWI BRITISH NAT. WAR SAVING PLAQUE

This WWI British Plaque for National War Saving Committee is for the community of Hoylake & West Kirby It is made out of Bronze and my question is how the hell did it wind up in the US? The plaque appears to have been taken off a building or memorial by force. The dimensions are 11 1/2’ wide by 16 1/4’ high. I had originally purchased it to put with my WWI British Medals but it wound up on the pile so time to go to the next lucky owner. Condition used
