THE USS MONAGHAN-DD354 SANK A JAPANEESE MIDGET SUBMARINE AT PEARL HARBOURRR

Normally I do not bother with ship launching artifacts unless the ship did something spectacular and this Destroyer Escort did. The USS Monaghan was launched in January 9th,1935. This ship sank a Japanese midget sub at Pearl Harbor. Has a probable destroyed Japanese sub off Wake Island. Rescued sailors off the Yorktown Aircraft Carrier at Midway. Forced a Japanese sub aground in the Aleutians what more could you ask a this ship. With all its history the USS Monaghan was lost in a Typhoon in December of 1944 with almost all hands. A sad ending for a proud ship. This rare and solid bronze launching memento has a black finish applied to it and is 4 3/8” wide and 2 1/4” at the middle. The two radio mast are present and the dust if included in the price. Condition very good ++++
