WWI EK 2ND CLASS CONVERTED TO 1ST CLASS

I have always liked 2nd Iron Crosses that have been converted to first class and to the Knight Cross and this is a real sweetheart of a EK field conversion from 2nd to 1st class. The medal itself is interesting as the obverse side crown and date are not centered in the frame and there is some rust showing on the lower arm. The hinge plate appears to have come from some other medal and not a field made item. The pin looks field made as does the catch with a thick heave C shaped piece of medal. Just a neat converted cross Condition very good
