USMC VIET NAM ERA GROUND SENSOR SYSTEM

Once again here is a item that I normally would not acquire for resale but it was a new item to me and like I have said before I like different things.I purchased this Detecting set intrusion AN/PSR-1A at a large antique show of all places. This set is complete and could not have been used more than once or twice. Here is a brief breakdown on the unit that I copied off the internet. Marine Corps Earth Vibration Intrusion Detecting Set The Marine Corps Earth Vibration Intrusion Detecting Set AN/PSR-1A (FSN 6655-880-1967) was a battery-powered device that detected ground vibrations through four geophone sensors. Included are the following 1-Carrying bag and strap no.14058 40569-1, 2- Control Set for four ground detectors, 3- USMC TM-04704B-15, 4-Four ground detectors, 5-One ground stake, 6- Set of Head Phones. Again this set is almost in new condition the only wear or usage that is shown on any item is the tips of the ground Sensors. They have a very small loss of the finish on the point of the tip and no usage on the remainder of the prong. Please go on line for a full description of the capabilities of this unit. This Detection set was made in 1968 for use in Viet Nam and I have to say it sure seems to bulky for an individual to carry around. It must have been kept with the infantry headquarters. I spent 1967 with the 1st division in RVN and the only thing I saw in use that was close to this was small tripod mounted radar detection unit. That could only be used when there was no wind, for obvious reasons. Again this unit is close to mint with only with some finish loss to the mounting spike tip. Condition very good +++++ Have to add this, just handling it for the photos it is as listed near mint the battery racks are like new no battery corrosion on the leads, the control set shows no usage all the levers and twist knobs work and the rubber on the sensors are pliable and ready for use, its all there.
