GERMAN PHOTO ALBUM SHOWING BOMB DAMAGE TO GERMAN CITY’S

This is quite a large photo album that shows the destruction to the Bremerhaven Port City by British night Bombers. The album was produced by the Germans during the war and measures 16 1/2” wide by 12” high with 251 5“x7” Black and White photos of various Buildings, Personal Residences, Churches, Stores and a couple Factories. Each photo has a description in German and I had a friend write a note listing what the German title to each photos listed. There are about 8 photos missing from the album, and some listing SS headquarters and showing Bomb damage to it. The photos show soldiers, air raid wardens, Police and some SS that you can only identify by the German title of the photo. The photos really show who suffers in carpet bombing its the civilians not the military or government its the peoples houses, apartments and places of worship and work. This is the only album that I have seen that covers the German side of the bombing so well in photographs. Its interesting to look at and trying to pick out the different uniforms and just looking at the destruction. Condition Rare. Very good ++
