VFW ALUMINUM PARADE HELMET

This Veteran of Foreign Wars parade helmet is the first one that I have seen in the past 30 years. The helmet shell is styled after the US WWI standard issue helmet but of light weight Aluminum. I have not cleaned it just as it came out of the attic. The Bronze VFW Badge with 961 affixed to the top of the badge is for the Ithaca, N.Y. Post. At one time something was attached thru the top of the helmet. The linger is special made for this smaller size that the Army helmet and has seen better days. The fake leather sweat liner is complete along with the very heavy chin strap that the buckle is rusted. Something different just what I like the unusual. Condition Good +++
