VIETNAM CHAPLAIN AWARD DOCUMENTS BSM,AMM,PHM,ACM
This has to be the neatest R.V.N. certificate group I have owned, All documents are named to Captain Fidelis J. Forrester ASN 02327519 of the Chaplin Corps. I spent part of 66 and all of 67 in Viet Nam and only saw one Chaplin in the field. The Purple Heart Award to a Chaplin has to be rare by itself. The documents are all professionally mounted on heavy wood plaques with clear mat finish over them to protect them for ever. This form of mounting military documents was pretty popular during the 1960's period.Note shipping will be expensive as the wood plaques are heavy. Condition very good +
The documents are:
A - Purple Heart Republic of Vietnam January 30th 1968
B - Bronze Star Republic of Vietnam August 1967 to July 1968
C - Air Medal Republic of Vietnam October 22, 1968 to November 22, 1968
D - Army Commendation Medal Republic of Vietnam August 1967 to June 1968
All of the mounting boards have a grove cut out of the back to use as a hanging strip
I have collected Purple Hearts for years and this group was always on display as my only Chaplin related PH material. I have never researched who he served with or anything else about him. Will be a nice project for someone. Wonder where the medals are?
