This transitional SS EM dagger comes with the late squirrel factory logo and the RZM logo with 941/38SS. For a late 1938 dagger it still has the cross grain that you have to look for. As usual I will start with the grip and cross guards. The pommel nut appears to maybe taken off once or the marks were left from its assembly. The wood grip has a nickle eagle and the SS enamel insignia and the eagle are a perfect fit. The wood fit to the cross guards have the wood protrudes from the grip. Something we see on later daggers. The nickle silver cross guards are in very good plus condition. Now the Blade as listed this is a transitional dagger with all the proper markings. The blade has not been sharpened and there are no nicks or finger rust spots. The SS motto is perfectly aligned with the center line of the blade. the motto itself still has a light gray finish from the acid etching. The scabbard is in very good condition with about 95% of the original black paint. there is minor crazing on one section.
