I have been told this banner style brass plate is for a Troupe De Cuirassiers, Model 1872 Modifie 1874 3rd Republic Cuirassier enlisted man’s Lobster style Helmet. Wow that’s a mouth full. I figured it was French but all knowledge stopped there. The ends do not match exactly where the upward slant of the brass towards the end is longer on the right side. There is some of that green stuff on the right side. Oh yes the stamped out plate has great detail. Condition good ++
