ALEXIS KLOTZ USAAF FAMOUS LONG RANGE PILOT
I had picked up some items from the famous long range pilot Alexis Klotz from when he joined the USAAF in WWII. Included are his aluminum cadet pilot plate 11” long x 3” high, A leather flap from a briefcase with the AirForce wings painted on it a inimatation leather writing pad holder and two English cloth wings? And his ribbon bar for the award of a Soliders Medal and a Air Medal. Klotz was a early Air Mail Pilot and then long range pilot for the USAAF and flew Cordell Hull to Russia and lunched with Stalin. He wrote a book three years off earth covering his extensive flying time to include with TWA after the war. There is a lot of information about him on the internet. I have not found the reason for his award of the soldiers medal something I am still working on. Coniition good plus ++
