This Maryland State Guard Shako Plate was used between 1870 and 1880. The plate measures 4 1/4″ high and 4 3/8″ wide. It has the state seal on top in a lined sunburst and the punched out 5 for the fifth regiment has a cloth backing applied. All the fastening loops are still there already to be used to complete your helmet. Condition very good to excellent
