This long F.W. Holler bayonet is what I could call fairly rare, its the first I have owned in 50+ years of collecting and I know of only one for sale on the internet at a absurd price. Anyways this Holler long dress bayonet has the seldom seen Wehrmacht Eagle stamped on the blade's Ricasso Area by the cross guard and unlike the example in Wayne Techet reference book this one was stamped to allow for the buffer pad. In doing so the eagle has lost part of its left wing. I spoke with Wayne and he informed me that the only other maker that used this stamp eagle was Eickhorn and they always stamped the Pommel. The pommel is slotted for mounting on a rifle with a and active stud button. The blade has no rust or dings just some runner marks. The scabbard retains almost 100% of the paint and the frog is unmarked. Condition very good to excellent ++
